Support use of base classes that are not instantiable and have no primary key fields (JPA MappedSuperclass)

Created: 18/Feb/11 01:16 PM   Updated: 07/Mar/11 05:34 PM   Resolved: 18/Feb/11 06:46 PM
Component/s: MetaData, Persistence
Affects Version/s: None
Fix Version/s: 3.0.0.m2

 Description  « Hide
We currently insist on PK fields being in the root persistable. With some JPA usage people may want to have a MappedSuperclass with no PK fields and define them further down, in the root *concrete* class.

SVN trunk now has the concept in metadata of a class being "instantiable", and has convenience methods to return the root instantiable class in an inheritance tree etc.
