IdentityUtils for single-field identity cases can fail if the root candidate is abstract

Created: 05/Feb/12 04:32 PM   Updated: 06/Feb/12 10:13 AM   Resolved: 05/Feb/12 04:38 PM
Component/s: Code Structure
Affects Version/s: None
Fix Version/s: 3.0.8, 3.1.0.m1

 Description  « Hide
The IdentityUtils method to get an object from an "id-string" can fail when the id is of the single-field identity form. Obviously in this form there is no class name explicitly defined, consequently the root candidate has to be used. If this root candidate is abstract then that will also fail. Needs a check on whether the root candidate is abstract and find a subclass that is not abstract and use that as the root candidate

SVN trunk updates the handling accordingly to allow for next level being non-abstract
