Revamp statistics/management API

Created: 23/Mar/12 08:41 PM   Updated: 30/Mar/12 09:25 AM   Resolved: 27/Mar/12 10:09 AM
Component/s: None
Affects Version/s: None
Fix Version/s: 3.1.0.m2

 Description  « Hide
The current JMX interface is pretty basic. It allows access via JMX but if the user is not using JEE then would make sense to make things accessible via a public API (on PMF/PM).

Additionally the information gathered is limited; we should allow things like the number of reads and number of writes on the datastore, in total and for the most recent transaction.

SVN trunk now has an improved API for statistics gathering, one for the PMF/EMF, and one for each PM/EM.

Is there a URL that documents the statistics gathering? This could be quite useful.

Look at http://www.datanucleus.org/products/accessplatform_3_1/monitoring.html
which shows how to access the statistics objects. These statistics objects are bean-style objects so the javadocs tell all
