DataNucleus Enhancer (ARCHIVED)

Disable "annotation processor" enhancement, so the user has to enable it

Created: 19/Apr/10 08:31 AM   Updated: 13/May/10 04:36 PM   Resolved: 19/Apr/10 09:16 AM
Component/s: JDK1.6 Enhancer Processor
Affects Version/s: None
Fix Version/s: 2.0.2

 Description  « Hide
The use of annotation processors to do enhancement is a fine idea however it currently has a wait process to find some point when compilation is complete to be able to enhance. This is unacceptable as a default behaviour when the user just happens to have the enhancer jar in the CLASSPATH. Makes more sense for the user to enable it using

-processor org.datanucleus.enhancer.EnhancerProcessor

SVN trunk updates this to require the user to turn it on.

This is good news. For quite some time I've had to keep the enhancer jar in a separate directory away from all of the other DataNucleus jars to avoid this issue. They will be happy to know they can all be reunited again :)
